Nutella and Steel Cut Oatmeal

For a delicious meal combine steel cut oatmeal with about a half tablespoon of Nutella. It is extremely delicious and satisfying. No other additions will be needed and you will feel like you are having a special treat.

Frozen Blueberries - So refreshing and good!

In the last few days we went to a you pick blueberry farm. I've been busy sorting them and putting them on cookie sheets to freeze. When I bagged the frozen berries I tried oneof them. They are delicious. Much better even than frozen grapes.

Using up Ingredients You Have

I go to Google and do a recipe search for what I want to use up and get many recipes that fit. For example, in the search box:

Recipe: feta spinach eggs low calorie (or low fat or carbs if you wish)

This is a great way to find new recipes and use up what you already have.

Schedule Appointments for Exercise

I read in a recent article that it was a good idea to schedule in an appointment with yourself for each day you plan to do exercise. I find this a really good idea because I seldom miss appointments. I am going to follow this policy and see if it makes it easier to get in my exercise each day. This let's me know the importance. Has anyone tried this yet?

Ditch the Auto-Scrolling in the new Team Stream on Team Pages

Many find the scrolling on the page annoying. I know I did. There is a check box though at the bottom of the page that you can click to keep it from auto-scrolling. You can still scroll, but when you wish to. There are also buttons to filter the different categories of items. You can use this instead of the tabs in the old team page.

Easily Recording Bulk Food Information

Bulk food can be a real money saver but recording nutritional information is made much harder. I used to copy all the information from the tag on the item in the store but now I take out my digital camera and take a picture of it so I have it ready when I get home and add the food into my tracker. It's a great time saver to a great money saving strategy.

"Eating Opportunities" vs "Eating Excuses"

How we look at those eating occasions that pop into our lives such as eating away from home or special occasions determines our success. Why not look at them as an "Eating Opportunity" to practice wise choices rather than making them an "Eating Excuse" to overindulge.

Vegetable Beef Soup Starter

I use my slow cooker to cook a full batch of veggie broth soup starter with beef, onions, and black beans.

After letting it simmer all day on low I then split it into four parts, freezing three. That way I can add fresh veggies, pasta, barley, brown rice, etc. I try to always keep some kind available.
