Stop "Giving Up" Things

No, you did not "give up" junk food, you made a decision to eliminate unhealthy food from your diet. The difference is subtle, but important.

If you gave something up, it implies that you want it back. For example: "I gave up sweets" has a very different feeling than "Sweets are hindering my weight loss efforts, so I refrain."

You didn't give up smoking, you decided against being ruled by an addiction! You didn't give up McDonalds, you decided to refrain from eating grease laden food!
