A Journal for Traveling

When I travel, especially on overseas trips, I journal my memories in a pretty notebook. BUT, to really make it easy, I prepare a few things in advance. First, I tape a very small calendar of the month in which I am traveling on the inside cover of the book. In addition, I tape an envelope, open side
out on the inside cover. ( I use it to put family photos or little notes or receipts. In the back of the book I make several pages of sticky notes. I stick one at the bottom of the page, move up

Fresh Frozen Fruit

I love my fresh fruit, but I found I was wasting my money when the fruit would go bad before I could finish it. Now to save money if it gets close to browning or going bad I now fresh freeze it. Slice it into small peices and reuse the fresh frozen for smoothies or fruit salad as needed!!!

Don't open the Cupboard or Refrigerator

Don't open the Cupboard or Refrigerator until you've decided what you want. i.e. plan your snack before you look at the selections.
Then, your snack won't become a graze! emoticon

Repairs

Create a repair center for clothes that need mending, toys that need batteries, things that need gluing, etc. That way unusable items aren't in general circulation, and you know where to look when you have time to tackle a project. This can be as simple as a basket in a closet.

IF YOU HAVEN'T WORN IT IN A YEAR, DONATE IT

Get rid of anything in your closet that no longer fits or you don't wear because you don't like it. Make a list, donate it to charity and get a receipt for an income tax deduction.

Summer hydration

I drink more than the recommended 8 cups all summer due to the heat and outdoor activities. We just can't drink too much!

Chobani yogurt

I've found that the plain Chobani greek yogurt tastes so much like sour cream that I use it on my baked potatoes or in mashed potatoes and on nacho's and taco's instead of sour cream. That way I up my protein intake and probiotic's without all the fat from sour cream!

Cut The Fat While Baking

When baking one of your favorite recipes use apple sauce instead of oil. If you want to cut only half of the fat use some apple sauce and some oil. If the recipe calls for 1/2 Cup of oil use 1/4 cup apple sauce & 1/4 cup apple sauce. I have always used apple sauce instead of the oil, baked goods are moist and delicious. You can also use Egg Beaters and Splenda to cut more fat and calories. emoticon

Laundry

When I take clothes off of the hanger to wear, I put the hanger in the laundry basket. This way when it comes time to hang up all of the clean laundry, I know I have enough hangers!
