Look for marked down fruits and vegetables

One of the grocery stores that I frequent has a "marked down" shelve for fruits and vegetables. I regularly buy a good sized bag of over ripe bananas for $1.49. Generally there are some in there that are still quite good to eat if you eat them soon. Any I am not able to eat soon enough are used to make a healthy version of banana bread. I have also purchased other fruits and vegetables which have been good quality and totally eatible at a reduced price. Check it out! emoticon emoticon

Using less oil in cooking

When I made my veggie omelet this morning, I cooked the vegetables in just a small amount of water instead of oil before adding the eggs. It came out just fine without the oil, and the water cooked off so the omelet was perfect.

Keep Changing Your Goal

Last night I was extremely tired but wanted to still do the treadmill so I told myself to at least to 10-15 minutes. When I got to 10, I told myself to do 15, then at 15, I said you can go to 20; at 20 I told myself I did it that long I can go another 5 more; then told myself to do 5 again. Helped

Getting the last drop

If you cut open your lotion bottles, etc. you will usually find more than enough for another application or two rather than throwing it out when you cannot get any more out. I do this will all of my plastic containers, and it is amazing how much is still in there that some people would throw out.

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

My New Year's resolution was to not sweat the small stuff. It has made a hugh difference in my attitude and dealings with people and work. Save the stress for the big stuff and let the "small stuff" just roll off you!! Give it a try.

Preparing for Gatherings

Whenever we have a family gathering or party to attend, I always eat some fruit, yogert, or raw vegetables with hummis so that I do not arrive hungry and be tempted to dig into the unhealthy things like chips and dip, etc. If I am not extra hungry, I will be able to make wiser food choices.
