When I have a meal I usually bring a jug of water with me to the table. As soon as my glass is empty (which it gets pretty fast) I just fill it up. Sometimes you can't be bothered to go and get more but now you see it in front of you and I've found this a big help.
When teaching kids to cook especially mixing. Put the bowl in your sink on a towel and let the little cook add all ingredients and stir. The sink is lower and they can see in to the bowl better and the mess goes down the drain. Keeps clothes spatter free also. My grandkids love to cook with me .
When I asked a young woman who had lost 200 pounds how she did it, she said that she treated weight loss like a job. No matter how she felt, she showed up. She showed up at the grocery store to buy the right food, she showed up to track her food, she showed up to walk, etc.
I found my self binging when I fell of the wagon because I would tell my self I would start my healthy eating plan tomorrow...now instead of trying to "start over" tomorrow, I tell my self, i can eat the rest of the scrumptious cup cake tomorrow if i so desire... and I escape the binge!
It has really helped me to plan my meals in advance and pack food to being with me to work. I eat 4 - 6 smaller meals thoughout the day rather than just a big lunch and dinner. The benefits? More control with my bs & successful weightloss!
I know this is going to sound crazy, but here goes...I often struggle with getting my water intake in. It's not that I don't like water, in fact it is all I drink, beside my morning coffee! So I have set up my spark page calendar reminder to go off every hr to remind me to drink a glass of water
You can find great bargains on brand name packaged cheeses, canned goods, condiments & spices, Also soap / toothpaste / brushes / etc. and sometimes makeup and cleaning supplies that often cost 3 or 4 x more in regular venues. Awesome way to save.
I like to start the day with positive self talk. If I can start the day with a positive thought, I can turn a negative day into a positive day. I will then find energy to exercise. Negative thoughts turn into negative actions. For me it is positive energy that wins the day!!
My dietitian thought me a great skill. No starches, breads or rice for dinner. Ultimately, this lowers your overall calorie intake for the day so you lose weight. In addition, eating slightly more protein will help you to stay fuller for longer and cutting carbs can help you feel less bloated.
