Lindy's Gelato - only 4G of fat

I like cold treats in this crazy heat and found Lindy's Chocolate Gelato. It comes in 6 oz cups and is only 4g of fat.... but it tastes like heaven...and b/c it's frozen it takes a while to eat it so you can savor each spoonful!

Audio Books

Audio Books are a wonderful way to 'read'. You can borrow them for free from your local library - download them to your ipod...then listen while you clean your house, walk, exercise on your treadmill, etc. It's a great way to fit more into a day!

No Sugar Added Smoothies - Just fruit!

Slice and freeze bananas to use instead of ice cubes...then add a naturally sweet fruit such as berries or peaches - or both - maybe add a 1/4 cup of milk. Blend away - the bananas make it thick and creamy...and it's 3-4 servings of fruit...and refreshing!

Hamilton Beach Single Serve Smoothie Maker

is fabulous... It was less than $20, and takes up space the size of a large glass. It works really well and is easy to clean...can't say enough good about it!

Exercise Your Arms When You Walk!

When I walk, I exercise my upper body. It looks like I'm doing walking Jumping Jacks-4 countsarms come together over my head, 4 back down. Elbows at my ears, raise above my head, palms up at my shoulders, lift over head. Curls, etc. I look ridiculous, but I'm seeing a difference and saving time :)

Sip While You Walk!

In this heat, I started bringing a 28 oz water bottle w/ me when I walk to stay hydrated and sip as a I go.. I realized that's 3 glasses of water for my day...makes my goal of 10 much easier :)

I make my rice...at breakfast time :)

By the time I get home from work, I don't always want to wait the 35-45 minutes whole/long grain rice takes to make. But when I'm getting ready for work in the morning, I'm in and out of the kitchen and can easily put the pot on, turn it down and put it in the fridge until dinner - then nuke it!

Iced Tea Bags for Swollen or Sunburned Eyelids

When you're making iced tea...recycle the tea bags. Tea bags are great for reducing swelling around the eyes - I think it's the tannen. Pop the tea bags in the freezer and when you use them it's like an instant spa treatment!

Lemon Ice Pops

In this heat wave, it's nice to have something cool... I freeze lemon or lime water in those kids popsicle forms... Very refreshing and just a few calories each.

Refreshing Watermelon Treat

"Mash" chunks of watermelon until almost smooth - place in freezer for 30-45 minutes. Tastes like an Italian Ice!
