Buy a few real plants and put them in the rooms you spend the most time. It brighten up your house during the dull, gray day of winter for a very small amount of money.
I am finding out that making a specific space for things declutters. I am using crackers tins, shoes boxes--everyday items as storage containers. Use your imagination and get your kids involved. It helps them to put things away.
When starting to feel your goal is far away or unreachable, or you just don't want to do something you should, find a motivational song and play it a few times a day when the going seems tough. It gives you that boost you need both emotionally and mentally. Be unstoppable (that's the song I like--You're Unstoppable). GO FOR IT!!
Take time and write a love letter to yourself...write what you need to hear and then read it loud to yourself. On those hard, trying days, pull it out and read it again. You will be surprised to see the difference it makes. It feels so good to be accepted and appreciated!!!
It's more fun to exercise with a buddy, why not your family? Have fun with a hula loop, the Wii, DVD or walking ...exercise together & have fun!!!! It's a great way to get everyone off the couch!!
I no longer think I have to...I think I am changing my life for the better so I can enjoy it it with those I love. I ask my myself, "How can I feel my best", "How can I look my best" "How can I love my best"...no more I have to's.
When I have a worry, I write it down and fold up the piece of paper. Then I drop it in my worry jar. Two to three weeks later I read my worries and many of them I laugh at. I can say to those worries. It makes me feel so much better.
Not only do we need to feed our bodies healthy food, we need to feed our minds healthy food too! Everyday read something that is uplifting and positive--it changes your attitude and outlook on life. A positive attitude creates a healthy person.
