Garlic & Cheese Grater

I LOVE adding garlic to many of my meals..not to mention it's super good for you! But chopping it up is so tedious! So, while watching Rachael Ray one day, I noticed she uses a hand-held flat cheese grater to "chop" up her garlic. It is SO easy & quick. I cook w/garlic all the time now. Try it!

Start Your Day off the Right Way

Don't start your morning off by going thru a drive-thru. You're only bound to fail the rest of the day. Starting the day off w/a light/healthy breakfast, like oatmeal, will set you up for a great day. You'll be less tempted to "ruin" your day by making unhealthy choices for lunch, dinner and snacks.

Change "I'm Tired" into "I'm PUMPED!"

Time & time again, we've all used the "I'm too tired" excuse. When you've had a long day & just want to veg, make yourself get up to do a workout - even if it's just a 20 min. DVD you can pop into your player. When you're done, you'll have a burst of energy & feel so proud that u pushed yourself!

Polar FA20

I just got the Polar FA20 (a watch device that counts calories burned, activity levels, etc.). The awesome part is that you wear it 24/7 & it counts activity you do in your day-to-day life. You can set a target cals burned u want to acheive & then get on w/your day. It'll beep once u hit ur goal!

Chew Chew Chew

If you are having or craving or feeling like you want to eat just for the sake of eating (boredem) then pop in a piece of gum. I find that it helps curve cravings and also keeps my mouth busy! Seriously though - if you usually don't keep gum with you, keep a pack with you for this reason.

When It Hurts - Push Through!

When you're working out doing whatever is your routine, don't stop when it starts to hurt. Even tho your legs are burning, your abs have that knot in it, or you feel like you're about to die on that treadmill - PUSH THRU! That uncomfy feeling is your body changing (for the better!)

SP Fix

Each day, I start off the day right - with SparkPeople! I grab my usual cup of coffee & bowl of oatmeal and log right into SP. I log my cals, then connect w/ fellow Sparkies, do trivia, read daily emails, blogs, etc. to get my day started off with some motivating & inspiring info!
