It's that time of year! Grill up some bell peppers and stuff them with brown rice, roast eggplant slices and top with a mix of Greek yogurt and fresh herbs, or grill up zucchini slices and toss with homemade vinaigrette!
Many employers' health insurance plans include a flexible "health spending account". Use every penny, every year! Even if you just use it for massages, it's your money and you should use it!
Every payday I get up thirty minutes early and pay all my bills online- car, phone, rent, utilities, student loan and credit card, plus I set aside short- and long-term savings. Then, I know exactly how much fun spending money I've got for the rest of the month!
I spend every Saturday or Sunday in the kitchen, preparing healthy meals to see me through the week. On Monday, I bring FIVE servings of healthy meals to work and put them in the fridge (or freezer, as needed). For the rest of the week it's one less thing to worry about in the morning!
Whenever I eat something unplanned at work, I immediately send my personal email account a quick note describing what I ate. It could be as small as two chocolate Easter eggs, or as big as a slice of cake (odd that it's never vegetables!). When I get home, I enter it into my nutrition tracker.
My gym has both costly registered fitness classes and free drop-in classes. I've found that the drop-in ones are actually MORE motivating! It's often the same core group of people at all the classes, from Aerobics to Zumba, and they'll hold you accountable if you're gone for more than a day or two!
My local public library has a database of electronic resources, including eBooks, digital audio files of books on tape, online newspapers, etc. I have recently discovered that in the periodical databases, issues of many popular cooking magazines are available in PDF format- for free!
