Eliminate the negative
Pre-plan your meals for the ENTIRE week, including the weekend. This way you don't get caught in the all too familiar "I didn't take anything out, how about you just take me to dinner or we order a pizza?" As a mother/step-mother of 5, I make it a habit to sit down and plan meals for the week and do all of my grocery shopping at once. It cuts down on the gas used to make multiple trips to the grocery store & it also locks me into a plan for the week as far as meals go.
If you're having trouble meeting that 8 cups a day goal for water consumption, don't be afraid to add a little flavor. Flavoring packets, if chosen carefully, make it so much easier to drink lots and lots of water on a daily basis without adding many calories or sodium. I prefer the Crystal Light Fruit Punch packets myself - tastes just like Koolaid!
I have shared my journey & my daily progress with all my facebook friends & family. While I am doing this for myself, I know that if I slip up or try to give up there will be an awesome support system to pick me back up & kick my behind into gear!
