I read this article this morning and it was so helpful in helping me to avoid alcohol after all of the work I do exercising and wondering why I am not seeing results fast enough. http://www.associatedcontent
This morning, for the life of me, I didn't want to exercise. I groaned. . . not again! So, instead of heading for the gym, I tried on a few skirts, and a few blouses. One blouse buttoned right on up! The skirts, well, lets just say I didn't have to fight to get it passed my hips again. So, seeing is believing. I tried on another dress that didn't quite fit yet, but it motivated me to get working on my weight loss efforts for the day, and plus that kept me away from the kitchen for a good two hours!
If you've lose weight and gained it back, think of how good you felt when you hit a certain milestone. It doesn't even have to be your goal weight, but how you felt when you were able to slip on that skirt from the 80's that you vowed you would wear again.
My husband and I are going out tonight and instead of feeling terrified of what I am going to order, I know what I am going to have: salad. Yep. Salad. Why won't I be deprived? Because I'll have a small bite of what ever he eats and that will satisfy me. Works every time.
Since I live out in the country along the highway, every chance I get when I go to town, I make a day of making sure my walking gets done. This is an old tip, but when you live out in the middle of no where, some may take side walks for granted.
I don't know how much cigarettes cost now, but whenever I give up drinking I seemingly have more money in my wallet and am able to pay more towards my credit cards. That should be incentive enough for me to never buy the stuff again, as my big goal is to pay off my LISA CARD and stop living from paycheck to paycheck! That's the only place left I have to cut back since we live within our means otherwise. Done deal.
For the two years we didn't have internet service at home, when I would check my email at work, I was able to review the Spark motivational articles. At my job we can pay so much to make copies, so I would print them and change the font to very large - this way, I would read the article of the day on my treadmill without having to squint! It gave me something to look forward to at the end of the day, and make the treadmill a lot less boring.
