Beat the Heat!

In the summer, it can be hard to get a workout in, when it's already so hot. Workout at night if you're awake, to take advantage of the cooler air.

Visualize Being Thinner

Having trouble picturing yourself lithe and lean? Next time you look in the mirror, move over to the right or the left, until you see about how you want one side to look. I know it's an illusion, but it's really interesting.

Keep Warm Putting Away Groceries

In the winter, keep your coat and gloves, on until after you've put away any groceries that go in the freezer. It's a very good idea, because getting cold can cause you to have a headache.

Stretch In Bed In The Winter

Notice you are pretty warm when you wake up? Well, you could go ahead and do some simple stretches while you are still in bed, and under the covers. I like to stretch my hip muscles this way, because my house is not as warm as I would like.

Enter Your Foods in the Nutrition Tracker Yourself

When using the nutrition tracker, you have the option of adding a food not in your meal plans. I don't use the meal plans right now. What I do is always enter all the nutrition facts for each food that I can--that way you can learn as you are reading the label, and copying the information, what you should know to make good decisions about each item. Also, sometimes the other person's information may not even be correct, even when it's from SparkPeople. It could be out of date.

Wear Maternity Clothes

If your problem area is your waist, you might try wearing maternity clothes. The fit is comfortable, and it looks very stylish. They make really cute maternity wear these days. And the savings come in when you don't have to purchase as many pairs of pants, because they stretch if you get bigger, and work if you get smaller. They can easily be three different sizes! I get them on sale, usually. Try on the smallest size you hope to be, and see if that will fit you.

Restaurant Pancakes

When pancakes come with something, like an omelet, I like to get them without any butter. Butter contains unnecessary fat and cholesterol, and is usually used on pancakes just to moisten them. However, for only 30 calories, you could use 1/4 cup of sugar-free syrup. It's very tasty, and you don't have to work off as much later!

Finalize Your Decisions About Clutter

It sometimes is difficult to commit to decisions regarding what to give away to charity, because the items usually stay in our homes for a while. So, it is possible to remove the items from the box or bag, and keep it. However, you probably put it there for a reason. To make sure that donations stay donations, it can be as simple as getting a box that closes at the top. Fill it, and then seal the box with packaging tape. Label it as to its contents, and take it in soon.
