frugal plant starter kits

The cheapest way I've found to start my garden plants and herbs is to re-use yogurt containers, eggshell cartons and the broken eggshells themselves. Using large plastic salad tubs as a mini greenhouse works great too! No more expensive jiffy pots and greenhouses for me. emoticon

Coke for the dirty work!

When you get that gunk at the bottom of pans, such as broiler pans, or on the bottom of your burner pans don't fear...Coca Cola is here! Just pour a full can or bottle of brand name regular coke over the pan and let it sit overnight. Can be repeated if necessary. Works great!

Pam in the kitchen

In my efforts to cook in a healthier fashion I have become hooked on Pam cooking spray. I use it for stir-fry, eggs and even for coating on bread when I make grilled cheese sandwiches. It helps to reduce fat in cooking and also makes cleaning the pans a lot easier!
