Suck It In to Suck It Up!

You know how people double-over and grab their knees when they're out of breath? Instead of doing that, next time try doing the opposite--stand up straight and suck in your stomach, pulling your belly button in toward your spine and breathe normally, expanding and contracting your chest. I find that not only does this help me catch my breath, it improves my posture and strengthens my abs all at the same time!

If you're a news junkie reduce stress by cutting back on your news consumption. Unless your day job is activism or politics, chances are you already have enough on your plate to worry about. Avoid news commentary shows and opinion articles--those are just designed to get you riled up--and stick to the facts. You'll still be informed and then you can spend the rest of your spare time relaxing instead of mentally leading a march on city hall.
