Drink Water to Prevent Cold and Flu

We all know that drinking water is important to overall health. But, it can help prevent colds and flu, too, especially when you wash your hands after going to the bathroom -- all that constant hand washing keeps you free of germs!

Just make sure to wash with warm water and soap (no need for it to be anti-bacterial) for about 30 seconds, and use a paper towel on the bathroom door handle in case someone isn't as fastidious as you are!

Use the Microwave

Use the microwave for more than making popcorn and warming coffee! Cooking with your microwave is fast, healthy and keeps the heat down in the kitchen during the summer.

Despite what you may think, you don't have to use processed foods, either. I've made whole grains like brown rice and regular oatmeal, quick eggs for breakfast sandwiches, toasted nuts, melted dark chocolate for dipping fruit, baked apples and potatoes, and steamed spaghetti squash in minutes, all thanks to my microwave.
