Mess- free olive oil bottle

Catch the drips that form down the sides of the olive oil bottle with this simple, inexpensive solution.

Center the bottom of the bottle on a square of paper towel. Bring the towel up around the sides of the bottle (like you were wrapping a wine bottle as a gift) The paper towel will only come up about halfway up the sides of a small olive oil bottle.
Secure with a thick rubber band - I use the bands that come around broccoli for this.

Ped Egg

I normally do not buy "As seen on TV" products, but this really works! The Ped Egg is a small, egg-shaped file for callouses on your feet. Simple to use and amazingly effective! After 5 minutes of use, my feet were soft and smooth like a child's feet.

The design includes a cover which keeps mess to a minimum. After use, just empty the contents in the trash.

I got my Ped Egg at Bed, Bath and Beyond - it was marked at $9.99 and with a 20% off coupon I paid $8.00.

Oil spray bottle for misting pans

I use a Misto spray bottle filled with olive oil for sauteing vegetables and fish. It adds a nice subtle flavor and is re-fillable and re-useable. Great for me and the planet! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Keep oil bottles clean

Pouring from my olive oil bottle can cause drips to flow down the side of the bottle, making a mess. I solved this problem by setting the bottle on a folded square of paper towel, pulling the towel up around the sides of the bottle (as if you were wrapping a bottle of wine) and securing the paper towel around the bottle with a rubber band. The towel catches any drips that may occur. Change the towel every few months. Clean bottle and hands! :-)

If you bite it, you write it!

I record every morsel of food I put into my mouth on my SP nutrition record. Before SP, I tended to over- and under-estimate what I'd eaten. Being able to see everything in concrete terms allows me to accurately assess how I've done for the day. Quite often, the "damage" is not nearly what I'd estimated it to be! I'm learning to make more rational decisions with food, just by writing them down!
