Reminding Yourself of Why You're Doing This

We all mess up, but we can limit our mistakes if we remind ourselves of why we're doing this. I find it helpful to post my goals in places that I will see them constantly. For example, I have them set in a really pretty frame on my computer desk, I laminated them and use it as a bookmark, and I even have them written down on an index card that I carry in my wallet. It makes it a lot harder to spend money on junk food when I open my wallet to pay and see my goals staring me right back in the face.

How to drink 8 cups of water a day!

I found it hard to drink big glasses of water each day and only got through 2 1/2 the first day. The next day I remember a friend tell me she used small 8 oz glass and could drink all eight. I tried it and it work!!

We're all different. For some people, weighing every day works best. For others, they only weigh once a month. Some people swear by working out first thing in the morning, while for others it works best in the evening. I do what works for me, not what other people tell me I should be doing.

Cut your Brillo/SOS pads before using

With a lot of easier to clean surfaces and pots/pans, I don't need a Brillo pad very often. It gets all rusty and gooey with soap before its next use. So now I cut the pad into fourths and just use a small piece and toss it. Since I buy them at the Dollar store and there's 10 in a box, each section costs about 2.5.

Fitbit Motivation

I currently own a Fitbit Flex. Through out the day, I'm constantly checking how many lights I have on my band so I can know how close I am to 10000 steps. It motivates me to get up and move more.

Wall pushups

This is for who are unable to do actual pushups. These are almost as good as the conventional ones. When it gets too easy, I do one-arm wall pushups. These are really intense and I always feel the burn.
