I have been counting all my calories for several months. At first, it was a little time consuming but I put all my favorites in and it only takes me a few minutes a day now. I know it has helped because I've lost 12 lbs! It has helped made me more cognizant of what I'm eating and the nutritional values of the foods. It has helped keep me in check because I didn't want to write the candy bar I had so I just didn't eat it.
I'll only have one! I'll just check my e-mails...I'll just watch one show! I'll just buy one pair, but 2 shoe boxes later...(okay 3)! Exercise is the same way for me...if I say " just 15 minutes"... I always complete my goal time of an hour! Now if I can just conquer this shoe thing!!!
When you get into "weight loss mode," remember that it takes time to reach your goal. Here are a few tips and tricks to making weight loss happen without becoming an overwhelming task in your daily life.
Before starting cooking get all your ingredients out and chopped and ready in bowls, as you add each one to the dish, put the bowl in the dishwasher, or just wash it in the sink, and when your finished cooking, your kitchen is still nice and tidy and clean :)
Being around positive people is uplifting... smile and be positive to everyone else, and they can't help being more positive to you!
I have a small kitchen timer next to my computer and I set it for 60 minutes. When it goes off I get up and move around, stretch, grab a fresh glass of water or head outside for a quick walk around the block. Since my job is mainly sitting this helps me get some extra movement in my day and keeps me from getting so stiff.
