I found at least 4 extra minutes a day of activity that is simple to sneak in. I do some sort of exercise while my lunch is in the microwave at work! I do some zumba dance moves, wall pushups, calf stretches, or anything that comes to mind while the clock ticks down. If nothing else, I walk up and down the hallway. It's sometimes up to 10 no-longer-wasted minutes of my day if I heat up water for tea or something. It's not much, but it all adds to my total activity time for the day!
Now I need to loose and keep off the last 50. Re frame you can always eat what you want now, tomorrow.
My Grandma use to keep a bucket on her counter. She cooked healthy all day long. When she had waste from fresh veg, fruit or eggshells she would put it in the bucket. Later, she'd take it outside and spread it around a tree or garden where both flora & fauna would enjoy it.
For icy cold drinks take a water bottle and half fill it with a favorite drink drink or water, except carbonated drinks. Freeze it solid. Add more of the same drink when ready to drink it so drink stays very cold and as the icy part melts it doesn't water down the flavor since it's the same drink.
Sometimes we get that feeling in our stomaches, and think to ourselves, "I think I might be hungry." Well, if you aren't sure, try drinking a glass of water. It knocks down your water intake by 1 glass and removes that feeling that was potentially not hunger and you've saved yourself unnecessary calories.
If you need a quick pick-me-up, take five minutes to enjoy your garden. British researchers found that folks who spent time surrounded by greenery were71% happier than those who spent time at an indoor mall. Credit goes to nature's ability to soothe your senses and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
I think getting my exercise in first thing in the morning is what works for me. If I get it done early, it's taken care of and I don't have to try to find time later in the day. I also think I get a better workout because I'm not tired.
Never think of yourself as "on a diet" or "restricting what you eat". These are negative ways of looking at eating. Instead you need to see that you are "choosing healthy foods" and "living a healthy lifestyle". Food can be a very positive experience in our lives but we must remember to keep all things in moderation. Just by changing your outlook to a more positive one will help motivate you to keep eating healthy. Food is delicious and can be enjoyed even if you are watching what you eat.
