Where does motivation come from?

Motivation comes from within yourself.
Think about the surge you had for the new year... You felt like you had a new beginning and internally wanted to start on the right foot. The problem with those surges is that they are temporary. But you now know for a fact that YOU and only YOU can motivate yourself!

When you are optimist, positive, self confident and proud of yourself, it's easy to motivate yourself. And the motivation you feel will be constant and always there.

Non-smoking Smoker...

Years ago my girlfriend quit smoking and started saving the amount of money she spent on cigarettes. After a year, she went to France for 2 weeks with the saved money...

So I decided to do the same. I didn't smoke, but I started putting the $ of 3-4 packs a week in a savings account (named Smoker account lol) and have since been travelling every winter to a new destination.

Everyone can put $20 a week aside (or a bit more) and invest in something they want.

Changing perceptions

I could look at 2011 and focus on the fact that I'll be starting the year undergoing an invasive and dangerous surgery that will cripple me for several months. I could focus on how hard this will be on myself and my relationship. I could let the fear of the unknown take over.

But why???

I prefer to see it as a chance. I've been living with a crippling lower back injury for years and prefer to be hopeful. Yes it will be hard, but I have a chance to recover and win back my health.
