Microwave your sponge to kill germs!

To kill germs and prolong the life of your sponge, put the wet sponge in the microwave for 30 seconds. I do this every time I use the sponge at work, and the sponge stays fresh smelling for ages!

Monitor your Resting Heart Rate

Having a hard time exercising in your target heart rate zone? Maybe you need to check your resting heart rate! If you are getting regular cardio, your resting heart rate will decrease. Since your target heart rate is based on your resting heart rate, it's important to periodically check your resting heart rate and adjust your target heart rate as your resting heart rate decreases.

Shrunk out of your wardrobe? Organize a clothing swap!

Are you shrinking out of your wardrobe, but don't want to buy new clothes because you're still losing? Organize a clothing swap with your friends. Plan a party where everyone brings clothes they no longer want. Set all the clothes out, and everyone gets to "shop" amongst the clothes. If two people want the same item, play rock/paper/scissors to determine who gets it. It's a great "girl's night" event, and a great way to refresh or "downsize" your wardrobe for free!!

Hand Sanitizer = Insta-Shower!

Have you been thinking about exercising during your lunch break or incorporating exercise into your work commute, but have been worried about not being able to shower afterwards? Hand sanitizer works great to take away the stinkies. It kills bacteria, and body odor is caused by bacteria. Just rub a bit of hand sanitizer into those stinky zones (like your armpits, NOT sensitive areas :P ) and it's like an instant shower! So no more excuses! Get out there and exercise!! emoticon

To help with portion size, change your plate!

I rarely use a regular size dinner plate any more. My portion sizes have shrunk, and, so I don't feel deprived, so has my plate size. Now I usually eat off the "bread plate" (the size between a saucer and a dinner plate). That way, my smaller portion doesn't look so small dwarfed on a big plate. My salad bowl, though, has grown. It is now the medium-size Pyrex mixing bowl! emoticon

Wash away Cravings!

Do you ever want to keep eating after you have finished a meal? I sure do! To combat that, I drink a full 8 oz glass of water after meals. It makes me feel more full, washes away the lingering (tempting) flavors in my mouth, and helps me meet my water quota for the day.

Protein & Fat Keep you Satisfied

Try to include a bit of protein with every meal, and don't forget the healthy fat! They keep you full for longer! My favorite? A slice of bread with peanut butter keeps me satisfied for ages!
