Keeping your kitchen clean makes eating better easier. I know I use a dirty kitchen as an excuse to not make meals at home.
When having a treat such as ice cream or frozen yogurt use a baby spoon to eat it with. You'll have to move the spoon to your mouth more often making you more aware of how much you're consuming. It also lets you savor small bites instead of shoveling it into your mouth.
Pick up a copy of Clean Eating, Cooking Light, or any others that catch your eye. Make a meal plan from them. Some even have a weekly grocery list for you, and the nutrition information as well. If it got my 5 year old to eat kale, and say it was delicious, it can't be wrong!
Brush your teeth when you know you're done eating for the day. I don't like to mess up the nice clean feeling with food so all I can do is drink more water. It helps curb unneeded evening/night time snacking
