You know how sometimes there are days where you could eat the kitchen sink if you had salt and pepper? Well, that is when you fall back on your "snack attack bag." Come up with your own ideas, but here are a few: 1. Popcorn 2. Gum 3. CWord Puzzle 4. Picture 5. Inspirational message 6. To do list
I am not good with grocery lists and I have a bad memory of what I have in the house. Once a week or so, I will take a picture of my pantry and refrigerator with my mobile phone. That way I can always pull it up and glance to see if I already have something.
When I lack motivation to exercise, I turn on the Spark. I read the exercise message boards, success stories, watch the biggest loser and then after all of that I just walk into the gym and let it happen. Do anything you feel like doing. Then come back and track it. You did it! Feels so good!
If you like chips, then figure out what you can substitute to "get your fix." For chips, perhaps Kashi Cinnamon Cereal in a pre-measured snack bags...ready to grab. Popcorn is another good alternative (100 calorie bags).
Sometimes I find myself not getting anything done for being on the Spark website. Set your timer on your stove that will ring when time is up. It makes you get up to cut off the timer. It's okay, you can sign back on later in the day. Just set the timer!
It occurred to me last night that SparkPeople is open 24/7, so it does not matter when you have a rough spell...you can always plug into SparkPeople. Whew! Good to know!!
Put some weights on your ankles and cover them up with sweat pants. Walking around with these while you shop would help work off that extra fat.
If you have a portion control problem, make your serving bowl a measuring cup. Pre-count snacks and store them in snack bags. Make up your burgers ahead of time by weighing the meat, prepare your patty, then freeze.
When you want a snack at night and you are trying to talk yourself out of it, but it is not working. Check your spark calories for the day and see if you have any calories left. Sometime it is still okay to have that snack and you can design it to stay within the calorie budget.
Easter is coming next weekend and for me it started last weekend. I did not do well. So this week I am going to prepare for that holiday by adding some extra exercise minutes. Today I added 30 extras calorie burning minutes!!
