Prioritizing my time

It is very easy to get busy using the SparkPeople site and to get lost in time. I have found that if I prioritize what I need to accomplish during my day, I can then set a timer when I come to the site and be able to get everything important accomplished.

Don't give up

I have a pair of special goals that may seem silly, but for I was wheelchair bound in January and I use a walker now, so being able to walk my basset hound and to dance with my husband are important to me. I tried to walk Lady today but she was too strong for me. I was sad, but I will keep trying.

Control those trigger foods

If there is a food (or foods) that you know you can't control--first of all, don't allow it to be in your home. If it shows up for some reason give it away, take it away, ruin it, or throw it away. Get rid of it. You WILL be able to control it at some time in a proper portion size, just hang on!

I realized that I was back-sliding a bit, so I reached out to a new member on one of my teams who has similar goals as me--or you can hit that button on your spark page--and befriend someone who you can discuss things with in private. That has helped me to revamp my goals and get back on track.

We are going to have an "everyone wins" contest at our house.Everyone who wants to play will weigh themselves and keep a private record on Sundays.At the end of 6 weeks, the winner who loses the highest percentage will be King or Queen.They will choose family meals and fun for all and we all win!

Fruit--Nature's desserts

I have fallen in love with fruit. It has taken the place of things that I used to eat way too often like cookies and other sweets. Right now, berries are ripe and in season and inexpensive. Watermelon will be coming soon as well. Yummy! Fruit is the best dessert ever.

Have Fun

I got some good advice from a good friend yesterday and I realized that it pertains to a healthy lifestyle and exercise and eating well, as well as the "good living" it was intended for. Take time to have fun--if our lives aren't including fun, we are missing out on something important. emoticon
