before you eat

before you eat drink 8 ounces of water and 1 serving of sugar free jello. It will fill you up quicker when you eat and you get to have your dessert before dinner. emoticon

Baking Soda as Hair Cleanser

If daily use of mousse or gel is weighing down your locks, add a pinch or two of baking soda to your shampoo once a week to remove product buildup. Getting squeaky-clean strands is a piece of cake.

Wise Holiday Gift Giving

After living over 7 months on about a third of my regular income this year due to health reasons, we are trying hard to get back on track financially. I told our 8 kids that Christmas gifts were going to look a bit differently this year and I asked each of them to make me a list that included 5 things they needed and 5 things they wanted. We used that list to select their gifts with a plan to get them at least 3 needs and one want. It made shopping asier and more meaningful. emoticon emoticon

Pint of "Ice Cream" Guilt Free

To get my ice cream fix or when I want something sweet I have a few pints of Arctic Zero on hand. I discovered this product at the Natural Food Market a few weeks ago and I am in LOVE! I can eat a whole pint of something sweet and delicious that mimicks ice cream with no guilt! What is the big secret? It is 150 calories for the whole pint! Yes, the whole pint and they are not shy about telling you, they print that all over their products and different flavors!

Put out exercise clothes at night

I don't especially like to exercise, so I put out my exercise clothes the night before, and when i get up, and see them there, I'm more likely to put them on (if I don't, they make me feel guilty! LOL!!) and just get started. Once I'm started, I fell good about the fact that I'm doing something good for me and usually do 30-45 minutes of cardio and then some strength training! If I'm really short of time, I just do 10-15 minutes, but at least I've done something!

Workout Schedule

I'm a planner. I plan menus ahead of time and just recently starting planning my workouts, too. I use the SP Planner to plan my workouts a week at a time. I enter the URL of any videos I plan on doing in the Comments section of the planner, and I automatically get an email everyday with a link that takes me directly to the video. I won't let myself delete the email until I do the exercise, so it's there reminding me all day until I do it!

Learned my lesson!

I really never believed when I read and heard you have to eat "enough" calories, so I tried over and over to eat only 1000 per day. I have officially proven after daily weigh-ins for 2 months, the days I eat "enough" I actually lose more weight. You could have hit me in the head, I was so shocked! Who knew ... good fat really is good for me? Wow!
