Empty out that coin purse!

Every couple of days or so I empty out the coin purse part of my wallet and put it in my "piggy bank." Then once that is full I roll up the coins (I know, I know, I could take it to one of the Coinstar machines) because I like to do all of that myself. Once all of the coins are all rolled up I immediately take them and deposit them into my savings account. The last time I did this I think I had $50 worth of coins!

Gee, I guess the pennies (and nickles, dimes, quarters) really do add up!

I love The Laughing Cow Light cheese wedges!

I absolutely love The Laughing Cow Light cheese wedges, especially since they come in a bunch of different flavors (my favorites are the Blue Cheese, French Onion, and Chipotle & Queso Fresco). ANYWAY, they are great on sandwiches. Instead of using mayo and a slice of cheese (which adds up with all those calories), spread a wedge of the cheese on your sandwich. The best part is that it is only 35 calories! And it's so flavorful too.

Saving $5 a day = SUPER EASY

I have set up an automatic withdrawal of $35 every Monday from my checking account to my savings account (which equals $5 a day). This amount is small enough that I don't really notice it when it is taken out, but I feel better knowing that I am saving at least some money! It will add up in the end!

Chocolate milk for dessert instead of ice cream? Yummy :)

I'm the type that likes to have a little something sweet before I go to bed each night. Sometimes that means a popsicle or a cookie, but lately it has been a cup of milk (either skim or 1%) and then a teaspoon of light chocolate syrup. Tastes just like ice cream to me, but without all the calories and sugar. Plus, it's a serving of calcium too! emoticon emoticon
