Is it Real Hunger?

Next time you crave something, stop and ask yourself: Is it real hunger or is it emotional hunger?? If you haven't eaten in 3 or 4 hours, it's probably hunger, but if you are stressed, upset, even happy about something--it's probably emotional hunger.

Make your own baking powder

If you run out of baking powder, a quick substitute is 1/4tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp cream of tartar. This doesn't store well, so don't make too much at one time.

Steel Wool

After use, put your steel wool in a plastic bag and store it in the freezer. It will not rust

Sugar and Flour

Both granulated sugar and all-purpose flour can be stored in seal-able plastic bags or airtight containers and frozen. Sugar as an indefinite shelf life.

Throw away funnel

Save those rounded-dome lids with a hole in the top that come on some smoothies . They make good funnels--ones that you can use and then throw away.

Garlic Breath

For garlic or onion breath you can chew on a coffee bean. Or eat some fresh parsley sprigs.

Shower Cleaner

Combine 1/3cup rubbing alcohol and 1 c water in a spray bottle. After every shower, spray walls and tub with this mixture. Alcohol's solvents will dissolve shower grime and it evaporates quickly so it won't leave streaks behind.

Dryer Sheets

If you have gunk stuck on the bottom of a pan, just put a used dryer sheet over the stubborn stuck-on stuff, pour some water on it and let it set overnight.
Something in the dryer sheet helps to loosen the burned-on stuff and it comes right off the next morning

Better Bath Towels

To get softer towels, add 3/4 c white vinegar in the final rinse.
Your towels become more absorbent and softer.

Dryer Vent

If you use dryer sheets the wax builds up on the vent. Take your dryer vent and run water over it, you will be surprised, water will sit in the vent, but the vent looks clear. Take an old toothbrush or any kind of brush, and scrub it with soap and hot water, let dry, and in 30 seconds or less you have a very clean filter. Clogged dryer vents are a leading cause of house fires, and dryer heating elements going out. Add a few years to your dryer, scrub that filter.
