When I make a plate of food, I make sure to put the most delicious things on the bottom, covered by the less delicious things. Ex. salad with cubes of meat and cheese at the bottom. This motivates me to eat all of the veggies or whatever's on top before eating the yummy stuff. If the yummy stuff is on top, I eat it first and then I don't always want to eat the veggies and other healthy stuff.

I learned that I can't always take the stairs ALL the way up after I stayed on the 27th floor of a hotel. As a result, I concocted a plan to either take the stairs until exhausted and then use the elevator, or alternate between stairs and elevator. This method is also good if you're just starting.
