I know it's been said before, but eating off of smaller plates really does help. We have the "normal" 12" dinner plates and smaller lunch plates. When I eat meals on the smaller, filled up lunch plates, I feel more satisfied with smaller portions than with the larger, dinner plates.
One reason I want to lose weight is to resume mountaineering. So I bought a magnetic picture of Mount Rainier and put it on the frig where I see it everyday. I also put a picture of a runner with the type of body I hope to have on the inside of my gym locker. Both motivate me on a daily basis.

I never thought I would eat tuna without mayo, but I had it the other day, it was amazing. Tuna on a baguette, with cherry tomatoes and muesclin lettuce. Amazing and a great way to cut back on fat and calories.

I have a new bottle that holds 4 cups of water. I fill it up twice a day, and when I have drunk it twice through, I know that I have had my eight cups. I carry it with me every where.
I have a hard time drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Finally I started filling soda bottles with water and sipping on them off and on. I stopped worrying about how much I was drinking & it took the pressure off!
