Feel the Challenge

I had a co-worker say to me "you know what to do, you're just not doing it". I wanted to say, I am doing it! But, I kept quiet while she boasted about paying to join a weight loss group next week. I thought, I see your challenge and it's ON!!! emoticon

DONE LIST (not to be confused with another to do list)

To do lists are daunting and if not completed can be outright discouraging. So why not create a DONE list. It's a list of the tasks you've done (planned and unplanned) that will help you on your journey to creating a better you. It will serve as a positive reminder that little things add up and that one step / one day at a time you can reach your goal.

Once you've created it, print it and post it where you can see it. It will motivate you to add to it every day!

Stars

Every day that I do a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise, I give myself a star on a daily calendar. It seems silly, but the visual reminder really helps. Especially since I hate to see gaps on the calendar!
And, of course, once you get in 10 minutes, its so much easier to get in another 10, or 20...

Treat It Like A Job

When I asked a young woman who had lost 200 pounds how she did it, she said that she treated weight loss like a job. No matter how she felt, she showed up. She showed up at the grocery store to buy the right food, she showed up to track her food, she showed up to walk, etc.

Buy that piece you so badly longed for!!!

I have always dreamed of wearing a nice dress, but I've been wearing pants since I remember. When I started the journey I bought I really nice (smaller) dress and it hangs next to my mirror. Every time I need motivation I put it on and imagine the day I'm gonna wear it. I'm going to look gorgeous! That inspires me! emoticon

Yummy High Protein Snack

For a chocolately smooth high protein snack, I add one scoop of chocolate whey protein powder to a half cup of plain Greek yogurt, blend thoroughly with a spoon, and I top it with fresh strawberries and sometimes a little high protein granola. It helps meet my protein goal and squelches the craving monster! emoticon

Just Move

It doesn't matter whether you're walking, working out at the gym or cleaning the house. Just get on your feet and move! I find that music usually helps get my feet moving. So turn some on and turn those dreary chores into a fun dancing workout.
