Dress for (exercise) success

On the days when I plan to exercise first thing in the morning, I dress in my exercise clothes as soon as I get up instead of hanging out in my PJ's

Exercise

Plan your workouts for the week but allow a bit of flexibility. For instance if you are scheduled to workout on Wednesday but are unsuccessful make it up on another day - don't feel bad just move on

Weights and Measures!

Weigh and measure everything that you cook and eat! Most of us suffer from proportion distortion and underestimate what we eat.
When you take the time to measure liquids and weigh solids, you will come to learn just how much you're eating!

Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet really helped me get out of a big plateau i was stuck in for a long time. It was hard to stick by at first but it's really great for those who love meat and salads :) It's just a very low carb diet where you are allowed to eat up to 20 carbs a day which come from fruit and veg. I lost about 16 pounds in the first two weeks during phase one of the diet and this really motivated me aswell to keep up the work. I think this is a great way to break a plateau :)

Take a long hard look

Use the plateau to take a long, hard look at your exercise routine and your nutrition.

Are you skipping workouts? Make sure you're getting you're doing your workout's as planned.

Have the workouts become easier for you to do? Increase the intensity, by increasing the speed or resistance on cardio machine so that you are working harder.

Are you sticking to your eating plan? A couple of extra "treats" a week may be enough to stop fat loss.

SparkPeople, Diabetes & The Spark Guy

Yesterday Chris started a thread on Having Fun Reaching Your Goals. I thought it was a perfect time to Thank Him for our Diabetes Mgmnt Program & to ask him when the new improvements would take place. He said they are working on it very diligently and he know's the importance of it, but has no idea when it would launch. He's well aware of our need and desire to use the improvements.
What a Super Guy ! ! ! The thread is on the Readers of the Spark Team under The General Discussion Forum.
