Remembering to be grateful for what I do have and focusing on that. When I had my double mastectomy this year I was grateful for a loving and supportive family, a good job, health benefits and a skilled and caring plastic surgeon. I was grateful that I didn't need chemo. I don't play "Pollyanna" and yet the truth is that there is always something good that comes from even the most challenging situation - even if it is the realization that you had the strength to get through it.
I find that the more i cook using real ingredients, the weight comes off easier without being ridiculous about calorie counting. the longer a food can sit on the shelf without going bad, the worse it is for you. (Except for oatmeal and rice lol those are very healthy and last forever hehe)
I started a savings account for my new granddaughter by putting in $1 a day, by the time she is ready for college it will give her parents a good head start and it doesn't take that much out of my budget ($28-$31 a month)
When your paycheck comes in, put a preset amount of money in a savings account - before you do anything else. Better yet, have it go their automatically. Whether it is $5, $50 or even more, pay yourself first to establish that 3 to 6 month emergency fund, then work on your Christmas fund or whatever else you designate.
To limit holiday eating, wear tight pants (preferably jeans). You look thinner so people comment on that, reminding you why you shouldn't eat much. Your stomach doesn't have as much space to expand, so you don't eat too much. And the snug fit reminds you why you aren't eating as much. Simple!
Here’s an all natural trick for getting rid of bloating during your TOM. Squeeze half of a lemon into a boiling mug of water then throw the half of lemon right into it. Let your drink sit until it's still hot, but comfortable to drink. Drink your hot lemon water and the extra water you are carrying will be flushed out of you.
