Lettuce in the gardenbolted (went to seed)

Don't worry, and don't throw it out. Bolted lettuce is bitter to taste, but you can tone down that bitterness by soaking the cleaned leaves in lemon juice and water for a few hours. After drain the water rewash the lettuce and dry it. No need to waste the plants you tried so hard to grow. Eat them and enoy the added flavor.

Gardeners Killing the Colorado Potato Beetle Organically

This works for Japanese beetles too. Go out a couple of days with a container of soapy water. Flick all the seen beetles into the water. This is the key kill the ones there directly by HAND. Then spray the plant with a solution of fresh crushed garlic and water which has sat overnight, repeat if you need to. It is working in my garden!
Try an organic bug killer too if you like.

Recycle and reuse for better drawers

I cut the top part off an eggcarton to be used in my utensil drawers as liners and separators. Many utensils fit right in these and they keep the bottom of my drawer clean. I can change them as often as I finish a dozeen eggs.

When I am in a food rut or being to routine about the food

Sometimes I go back and look at my favorites in my tracker to remind myself of foods I really like to eat that are healthy. Rereading your favorites can also help you rediscover a yummy, and healthy food to break a food rut/routine you've gotten into.

Stay Active

If you have (active) children look at them when they play. They play hard and enjoy it. Try to forget to be an adult and play the way they do. They don't worry about burning calories or time. They just feel the wind in their face and the sun on their backs as they run, jump, bike or whatever. Laugh and play like a child. (You'll burn calories)

Working out with Jack Lalanne

I just found Jack Lalanne dot com. I have the family gather round the computer and we all do Jack's work outs. On the site they start from episode 1 way back when, in black and white. This is fun for my kids 7, and 9 and for hubby and I we like to chuckle while getting moving by the way he talks. He IS absolutely inspiring and so cute too! We've done it as a family for three days now! Try it it is online!
