Just Do It

When inspiration hits, I just go with it. Most of the time I'm not that excited to workout but when I am I can't resist the urge. I figure working out when I have that inspiration and I WANT to do it will train my mind to love working out because I enjoyed the experience. Also, it's way better than vegging on the couch.

Money and Eating

This is a very simple tip, easy to use. When I'm out and about and I get a bad craving for fast food and feel as though I can't say no to it I always remind myself that a Taco Bell meal might only be $5 but that's almost an hour of work for me. Do I really want to give Taco Bell and hour of my life for food that isn't even nutritious?

Plan Ahead

I use my myfitnesspal app on my droid to plan my meals a day ahead. I do it right before I go to bed so that I know exactly how long my breakfast will take to prepare and how long my lunch will take to pack. It also helps me keep from veering off track during the day.

My Sweet Secret

Ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper I've absolutely loved root beer floats. Eating is emotional to me, when I think of root beer floats, I think of being at my grandparent's house on a hot summer day when my grandma would make everyone an ice cold refreshing float. I still crave them today, but instead of having a full one I have a root beer shot. It's less than half the calories, with all the familiar taste.

Never Give Up

When I weigh in for the week and the number on the scale isn't the one I wanted to see, I don't freak out over it, I don't beat myself up or decide to give up. Instead I take a good long look at myself in the mirror and find five things that I like about my body. Five things that I didn't like BEFORE I started eating and acting healthy and I remind myself that I'm happier than I've been in my life.

My Favorite Way to Exercise in a pinch

When it's too cold outside or I can't make it to them gym, my favorite way to fit in some flab blasting cardio is going for a thirty minute run... up and down my stairs! Sometimes I add in twenty minutes of jumping jack intervals, man are those fun!

My Busy Schedule Secret

I'm a full time college student with a full time job, it's easy to get too busy to fit in exercise. On days when I don't have much time I go to my school's track and walk during my break. It's not hardcore cardio, but every little bit counts (:
