I want it just a little bit more

When you are out to eat, you see women eating these big desserts- and then they wonder why they get so upset when they step on the scale the next morning. There's one difference between you and that person who satisfied her temptation by getting the dessert: you want to lose weight just a little bit more...you know the secret to success and that's what sets you apart from everyone else who claims they are struggling.

I was just going through a cup of plastic sliverware to find a fork. I kept pulling out spoons and knives. Then the second I asked out loud: "Where are the forks?", I pulled out TWO forks and laughed to myself. Oh the irony.

Look ahead!

BEFORE you eat anything you might regret later, enter it into your diet tracker. If you don't like what you see, you can be happy with the fact that it isn't in your stomach yet, remove that item, and go choose a healthier alternative. I swapped a hamburger today for a chicken sandwich and I feel great about it! my self control is improving, and I didn't even want that hamburger anyway, it looked disgusting to me.

Life is about more than just food

I had to say this out loud to myself because not even that long ago I was a binge eater, only thinking about food literally all day long! Now that I don't think about that anymore, it is amazing how I have bettered myself by thinking of other things that are more important and actually dealing with my emotional problems instead of feeding them. I cannot begin to explain how sparkpeople helped me realize that. I am a sparker for life!

When you say you need to do something, anything, DO IT IMMEDIATELY! Whether it's doing the dishes, getting that last bit of homework done, getting through that yoga video, ANYTHING! This will keep you busy all day, leaving no time for thought about food cravings, and it will keep you MOVING! When have we ever gotten done what we say we needed to? Well now is your chance! You could sit there making to-do lists all day, or you can choose to do it right now. Go for it! =D (cont.)

I no longer think about food all the time!

I promise as you become more knowledgeable about what is good vs. what isn't for you, you will enjoy your meals while and only while you're eating. You won't crave or think about them as much anymore. Keep your eye on the prize! Stay active! :D
