In training for a marathon walk, I learned that walking w/your arms swinging at your sides causes the swollen fingers. Proper form has the forearm at a 90 degree angle (like a runner) which prevents the swelling. If this is hard, hold a string or stick between your hands to help keep hands up.
I keep a sharp knife and small cutting board in my car. If I am on the road and it is time for a meal, I hit the grocery store, and not the fast food restaurants...Fruit, cheese, crackers, veggies, seltzer, etc make a great meal on the go!
An easy way to keep your calorie count accurate is to keep a 1/2 cup measuring cup in the pantry next to the cereal boxes. Most cereal calorie counts go by 1/2 cup or 1 cup. With the measure right there you won't accidentally over pour! Use it to measure your milk, rinse & put back on the shelf.
I have my goal weight written down. I carry it in my pocket. It is framed on my desk, and a mini version is taped to my steering wheel. If I find myself ready to stray or ready to take a portion that is too large, I just have to ask myself...Will this help me get to ___?
