I subscribe to SP Radio podcasts and listen to it on my way to work. This helps me to stay motivated to get up from my desk occasionally and take a walk and say no to the donuts and candy that always makes its way into the office.

I am notorious for drowning my sorrows, anger, frustration, glee, elation, and pretty much every other emotion in a bag of potato chips, ice cream or donuts. The thing that has helped me to curb my emotional eating is venting on my SP blog. Usually after I vent it all gets out of my system and I feel a little better. Plus, my SparkFriends will usually comment and make me realize that cheesecake isn't going to make my horrible/wonderful/aggravati

Screen Saver for Motivation

I started saving my favorite motivational quotes from SP to the picture file on my computer so they will be part of my screen saver slideshow. When my screen saver pops up I get to see these great quotes mixed in with pictures of all the people I love. It really helps on those rough days when it would be so easy to run to Starbucks to get a 600 calorie coffee or pastry. It just reminds me what is really important.

Squeeze in a few more steps...

Since I work in an office and sit at a desk all day sometimes it can be really hard to hit 10,000 steps on my pedometer. In an effort to squeeze in a few more steps I started making more trips to the printer. When I have to print up multiple documents I walk to the printer after I print each one. Not only do a get more steps in each day, but we don't have 4 people trying to figure out who printed what!

Cardio in the Morning = Less Coffee

Before I started exercising regularly I would drink up to 8 cups of coffee per day and would still be ready for a nap by 1:00pm. On the days that I do at least 20 minutes on my elliptical I get sick of my coffee before I even finish the first cup. Plus, I have so much energy throughout the day that I only sit at my desk when I have to!
