Set multiple mini goals to reach your final goal

I have a desire to loose over 150 pounds to reach my ideal weight. However, this goal or wish is very overwhelming to me. Therefore I have set a smaller goal of loosing 10 pounds at a time to focus upon (rather than focusing on the 150+ pounds that I need to loose). This smaller goal is helping me reach my larger goal so far I see that I can reach my 10 pound goal and move on to the next 10 pounds and the next. Ultimately I see the positive not the impossible/overwhelming.
