Dessert gum

I'v found chewing the Extra dessert gum in flavors like mint-chocolate ice cream, key lime pie, watermelon, strawberry-banana and strawberry cheesecake after dinner are a good choice for "dessert". I find I look forward to this treat emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

OH NO! I'm out of .....! But I've already started the recipe!

The title states how I felt when I started making a recipe & had already gone to the store, just to find out, I was out of something (happen to be garlic salt)! GRRRR! You know you've been in that situation before. There's a website called foodsubs.com which I used to make a GOOD substitute for it. In my situation, it had variations of garlic, then gave me the substitute/recipe of how to make it. If it a shot & see what you think! :) It may even save you some money!

Save on Gas

Whenever you can, save a little gas and instead of driving to those nearby errands, walk or better yet run. It doesn't have to be a full out get drenched in sweat run, just enough to raise your heart rate. ie., a trip to the nail salon, library, post office (even fireworks last night) can gain me anywhere from 1.5 miles to 6 miles or more (there and then back).

Mind your Mantra

"Dont trade what you want most, for what you want at this moment."
I found this in a magazine and have since cut it out, copied it, and placed it everywhere. It is so true when it comes to cravings, and getting off track. Why trade being healthy, fit, thin, whatever your goal is, for a snickers bar just because your mind is telling you so loudly that you want it!! emoticon

Unrequested mail

Any time I get unsolicited mail with postage paid return envelopes I send the empty envelope back through the mail. This way the US Postal service gets paid and it might just keep the cost of stamps down a little. I don't send anything back in the envelope so there is no risk or financial charge to me.

Nothing tastes as good as slim feels.

emoticon When tempted to eat something that isn't healthy or when I'm not really hungry, I remind myself that "nothing tastes as good as slim feels" and it refocuses me, putting my goal ahead of my desire at the moment to eat. Try it!

Still O.k.

Always eat all you fruit and veg requirements for the day. Even if you've "fallen off the wagon" a little, you'll still have the benefit of having eaten the good stuff!

Carpe Sodium!

To greatly reduce your sodium intake make sure to RINSE all of your canned vegetables! You'd be surprised how much sodium they are packed in!
