Dark cocoa covered almonds

Having a craving for chocolate and crunchy can be hard to fit into your plan. I bought dark cocoa covered almonds at Target - not the creamy chocolate but powdered cocoa. It satisfied my longing for the chocolate flavor without adding fat. And we all know almonds are good for us. Just be careful how many you eat!

Fiber Plus Cereal

I bring Kellogg's Fiber Plus Cinnamon Oats Cereal pre measured in a bag for a healthy snack. I can eat it one piece at a time so it lasts awhile and the cinnamon is satisfying as a "sweet". Ups my fiber for the day!

Cereal for Snacking

It helps me when I eat my breakfast slowly. So instead of a bowl of cereal and milk I have a string cheese and put either Fiber Plus cinnamon oat cereal or Kashi Heart to Heart oat cereal in a bag. Then I can eat one piece at a time, get lots of fiber, and enjoy the crunch longer

Popcorn saved the day

Sometimes only something crunchy will do. I have been making oil-popped corn in a new machine my husband bought me. I use either a little canola oil or olive oil so it is good fat, then add some sprinkle on popcorn topping. Without butter you still get plenty of flavor and at 55 calories per cup .

Popcorn to the rescue

Stress eating is one of my problems. I have discovered that if I have some air popped popcorn with just a little popcorn seasoning it lets me chew and crunch but does not add a lot of calories. And fiber is very good for me!

Skinny Cow

I also have trouble with portion control with ice cream. While I am still in the counting calories to lose stage I am enjoying Skinny Cow bars. Each has only 100 calories with added fiber. Takes care of my chocolate craving while boosting my fiber intake for the day!

little bits of activity

Little bits of activity really do add up. I have started taking the stairs in the parking garage instead of the elevator, stairs to go get water, and it is getting easier. I may not have time each day to work out, but these "little bits" add up to the 30 minutes I need.

Crystal Light with fiber

One of the things they keep telling you is "drink more water" another is to "get more fiber". Fortunately for me Crystal Light makes a drink mix in the individual packets in a raspberry peach flavor with only 10 calories and 3 grams of fiber. Helps with both.
