In a restaurant, if you aren't sure, try soup

I usually look at the nutritional info for a restaurant if I know I'm going later, but sometimes I'm surprised by an invitation to dine out. When calorie information is not easily found out, go for the soup! It works every time. In Mexican restaurants, try tortilla soup. In Chinese, try wonton. I always come out way ahead by sticking to soup!

More Gas Savings

It used to be that you would use more gas to start your car than idle - but cars have fuel injectors now and that's no longer the case.

If you are picking up kids for baseball, softball, etc. and they aren't ready when you get there - turn your engine off.

Anytime you are going to be stopped more than 30 seconds, this will save gas.

Motivation.

My children give me all he motivation I need when it comes to getting out and exercising. Today I came home to motivational drawings and sayings on the driveways written with sidewalk chalk. Along with my wife, they give me all the incentive I need to get back in shape.

Make Exercise a Privilege not a Punishment

I used to HATE exercising. Really hate it. And then I found Zumba and fell in love! When I have to miss class, I feel like a privilege has been taken away from me. So my secret is that I found something that makes me feel like it's so much fun that I am missing out when I can't do it!

Fat-free Reddi-Whip

Although it does not work well in recipes. Fat-free Reddi Whip makes any dessert more delightful. A two tablespoon serving is only 5 calories and if you check the ingredients you will see it is vastly more healthful than Cool Whip!

Remotivate Daily

SP uses a zig ziglar quote about motivation being like bathing...it works, but you still have to do it daily.

This quote has stuck with me this time: every day, I give myself a new reason to stay on track. Some days I am focused on that day, others my next weigh in, still others I think long term. I'm a believer now that motivation needs to be refreshed daily to keep actions in check! Try it out! emoticon
