I hit a plateau after being with SP for 3.5 months. I joined in July. I found three wonderful articles right here in SP to help break the plateau. I would recommend reading all of them to get the complete benefit. I did and now I have set new goals for the next 4 months.
ANY question you may have about exercise, nutrition, changing to a healthier lifestyle, learning about different types of illnesses, coping with change, goal setting, etc, etc., is all in the SP articles. You can go to "search" at the top of the page (you get a point per day for searching), make sure it is within SP and not "web search", and click. You will have a list of articles to look at plus other helpful areas in SP. I have learned SO much and it is all there for the taking. PLUS you get 3
I have multiple sclerosis and have had it for 25 years. A lot of aspects of the illness are out of my control completely but because I have learned about the illness AND myself with the illness, I have learned the things that I have power over and on bad days, I do okay. Life is unpredictable anyway and why not do okay where I can and have choices?
I have had insomnia for over 20 years and it is miserable. I joined SP July 28, 2010 and slowly I have been changing my lifestyle. I have been in SP for 2 months and I have noticed that the days I exercise for more than 30 minutes AND eat well (meeting my goals as set by the SP pre-diabetic diet) that I do sleep 7-8 hrs. What a miracle!
No matter how the goals are going, whether you lost weight or not, cheated on your diet, didn't feel like doing anything today, never, ever, ever give up! There is always hope if you keep on trying. Always.
Whenever I have felt stuck in my goals as I try to change my life, I have realized that whenever I am strictly honest with myself about all I am doing, THAT is what helps me break out of being stuck. For me, all long-term changes start inside of my mind first before any actions are taken.
Just by accident, I have learned that when I blog once a day, the process itself gives me encouragement; just the writing itself, no matter what it is. Plus, others read it, people I don't know, and they encourage me too! It has been great! So, I will keep it up.
I decided to drink one cup of water before breakfast and one after, one before and after lunch, and one before and after dinner. That only leaves me 2 more cups to worry about. Maybe that will help me get it going! I hope this helps some of you who don't like water either. The other two I can make fun by adding lemons or power grape Powerade or just buy flavored water.
The book, "Organizing from the inside out" is a superb book in helping one start to get orgazined and stay organized no matter what the problem. It is excellent. This is the first time in my life when I feel hopeful, that I will be able to get organized and stay organized. It is working already in my home.
