Whenever you strength train, whether with free weights or a machine, watch yourself in a mirror to make sure you are doing it with proper form. Proper form ensures you're getting the best results & not setting yourself up for injury! Happy Sparking!
After rereading an article I'd bookmarked to my favorites months ago, I was armed with a few 'new' tools to battle the month of April that I'd forgotten about since first reading the article. Reread some of your favorite articles & you'll rediscover things that can help you get back on track.
I noticed the other day that when the song I'm walking down the aisle to came on my ipod I wanted to run a little faster-even though it's a slower song! Download the wedding march or whatever song your walking down the aisle to & when you hear it-it will spur an extra power boost & make you want to push harder on your workouts so that you'll look wonderful in your dress on your big day!
Have you always wanted to run a marathon but can't quite find the motivation? Register & pay for a marathon as far in advance as possible. There are lots of races that let you register 3 to 6 months in advance. That way if you don't want to lose your registration fee you'll get your butt in gear & have a little extra incentive to get running!
"Restaurants" is the name of the app & it is awesome! It's got a huge list of restaurants with almost all of their menu options and calories, fat, the works! It makes choosing better options that much easier when you can't eat the way you'd like to! Not to mention it makes tracking your food in the Sparkpeople app a cinch! Put them next to each other on your home screen & you'll be rocking and rolling.
Even though pre-portioning food can be kind of a pain doing so ensures you know exactly how many calories you're get! Measuring your food out for the day takes the guess work out of eating & makes it easier to track your food with the Nutrition Tracker!
If you're having trouble getting motivated alone, compete with a friend. Trying to out do someone in a friendly competition will push you to do more than you would on your own. Start here on Spark competing for points! Try kickin' it up a notch with the weekly loser buying lunch. Keep it friendly!
