GOING TO BE TOUGH

Because I broke a couple of toes I had to stop walking and exercising my routine exercises. I looked up exercises I could do sitting down and there are around 7 of them. Now I will let you know the leg lift ones are not easy and the one with weights and your arms are a little easier but still have to work. Going to get some heavier weights and a kettlebell to start some other exercises when my toes are better. These new exercises will make me work and that is good. Smile stay happy.

ALWAYS PLANNING

Each day I am planning what I am doing the next or next week. I never let a day come and go without accomplishing something to brighten my mind or continue to keep my body healthy. I have fun seeing how much I can accomplish with my walking and exercises. I learn every day more about food and how our body runs. Sometimes my plans change because something happens like breaking 1 or 2 of my toes on my right foot last night. So I will do chair exercises, there is always something to do. Have fun.

10.000 STEPS

People ask me how I get 10,000 or more so I will let you know. During the day I just go about my business but I have my pedometer on. Even when I get up at night I put it on because each time adds 90 steps so by the morning I have 5 to 600. Each hour I try to walk at lease 10 to 15 minutes extra and that can be 5 t0 1000 steps. When I am close to 500 or 1000 I will walk to get there. Then I walk 30 to 60 minutes to get 4 to 6000 steps. Highest 14,427, want to get to 16,000. Walk on and smile.

SURVIVED

We all have had an eventful 4 days and some had more than others. My area had a lot of rain and a steady wind but not too damaging. I think people that where in the line of Irene did not wait to take care of things this time and that saved a lot of lives and damage from happening. Some things you can't stop like flooding but still take precaution's. Tornadoes in place that never have them was a nightmare but still survived. Hope we don't have another soon. God bless everyone.

READY FOR THE HURRICANE

Worked getting everything outside put away or secured. Bottles ready for water & food thawing to make so have something to eat if electric goes out. I try to enforce to my daughter what to do in her home. Better safe than sorry because I have plants & deck furniture & a lot of things that must be taken care of. Being alone I have to be in control and know how to do things. Always be aware of your surroundings and how to do what has to be done. You never know when you may be in charge. Be safe.

STEPS

I try to see how many steps I can get. Today I wasn't sure if I was going to get my 10,000 because I was to be away. I didn't go and I wasn't feeling good. In the afternoon. I just started walking to do my miles and I did 4.23 in 42 minutes. That was a little slow today but later tonight I looked and I almost had 11,000 so I walked and then I was almost 12,000 so I walked more just 10 minutes at a time. Well when I was done I had 13,241. Just watch your pedometer and try to get to the next #.

DONE WITH SUMMER FUN

Summer leagues are done now and all that is left is the awards and I will take first place in 2 divisions on Tuesday and Wednesday I will get for the games we won. I love to bowl and I am lucky the bowling alley is 10 minutes or less from my house. I could walk there during the day but then I would be too tired to bowl. I have fun and get to meet some really nice people. It is very good exercise also. Join a league this winter and have some fun I am. Smile and stay healthy. Joyce

SCHOOL IS STARTING AND LIFE IS CHANGING

When children go to school it is different than when we went or even my children. They are missing out on more of their summer every year. I wish them all well and hope they learn so they can be good productive adults. Smile Joyce

PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD

A lot of you know me by now and know I am always pushing to the next level. Put your best foot forward and it will take you where you want to go. Today I ended up cutting my grass which I haven't done for 2 months and made out fine. Each day more and more I am doing and getting stronger for it. No sitting around and waiting to get strong, pick up and go even if it is 10 minutes at a time, it all counts. Smile be happy and healthy. Joyce
