Iced Tea Spoon
I use a smaller ice tea spoon [long handle, smaller "scoop"] for my cereal, puddings, etc. Less food fits on the spoon forcing me to slow down my eating. A good treat also lasts longer!
It is biochemically impossible to be deep breathing and anxious AT THE SAME TIME! They are competing physiological processes and cannot happen simultaneously.
So... When you're in that moment when your diet, your day, your thoughts are about to run wild... consider taking a few deep (and I mean deep) breaths... It's amazing and effective! Try it and see for yourself...
Carpenter ants hate coffee grounds. We've had much success keeping them away by generously sprinkling the grounds against our foundation. Who'd a thunk it!!
Everyone has a story...
Everyone has a story. Everyone is dealing with something... Sometimes we know about it and sometimes we don't. That grumpy store clerk may have just been told some bad medical news. That sassy teenager may have just been insulted (again) by his own parent.

Instead of stopping on the road to grab a not-so-good sweet treat, I keep altoids in the car and have one. It's satisfying and only a few calories.
Dancing with the Vacuum
Years ago, after I saw the movie, "Mrs. Doubtfire", I thought it might be fun to dance with my vacuum. It's a fun way to get a chore done and add in a bit of exercise.
Talk and walk
When I talk on the phone with family or friends while at home, I make it a point to walk and talk. If I'm on with my daughter, I can do laps throughout the house and an enjoyable hour really goes by fast! That'a an hour of walking! Cool, huh?
I keep the 1/4 cup scoop on top of the can of nuts (peanuts or cashews) so I'm disinclined to reach in for a fist full. I take my 1/4 cup serving and leave the rest for another time.
Each day I look at the week's totals of calories and exercise minutes. This reminds me to do SP one day and a time and string a bunch of "one day's" together.
While talking on my cell phone, I do laps in the house... Sometimes walking for an hour!
