Eat meat?

If you eat a lot meat, there is a good way to save money on it. Buy an entire pig or cow. It does cost an extreme amount of money to buy, but it lasts about a year and in the end you actually save a large amount of money because you don't need to buy meat for that entire year.

Save Money and your Waistline

At the end of the day take all of the dollar bills and coins out of your wallet. Put those away for a rainy day. Now you wont' have any small change or dollars to put into the vending machine!

Shopping Cheap

When I find that I need new clothes I always think about the cost. Ugh...What I like is SO expensive so a few things I do is go to places like Marshal's or TJ Maxx where I can get named brand items very cheap. If that doesn't work I go online and see what items at my favorite store is on clearance sale. That ends up saving me quite a bit of money.

Freezer List

Get a dollar store white-board w/magnet & marker to stick to outside of freezer. Keep a list on what you have. How often have you over-bought or thrown out food bc you don't use or know what's in there? This has saved me time and money. Also, mark down when you froze it or for pre-packaged goods, their expiration date, esp. if stuff tends to hang around in your freezer. Works for the frig, too!
I also keep a grocery lister on there, to write down what I use up or need.

Brush your teeth right after dinner to stop evening snacking

Right after dinner, I brush my teeth, even before I do the dishes. It helps me resist the temptation to snack for the rest of the night. (Probably good for my teeth also.) emoticon

Reusing Water Bottles

While I use a glass around home, sometimes a disposable water bottle is just very convenient. However If I bring it back home with me, I refill it and use it at least 3 or 4 more times. I also love to reuse juice bottles for water to go. Conservation/Saving Money/Reusing.

Using over-ripe veggies and fruits

Sometimes we keep fruits and veggies past their prime. Instead of tossing them, remove any rotted pieces, bag the rest, and freeze them. When you want to add veggies or fruits to cooked dishes, e.g., soup, pasta sauce, add these instead of purchased frozen foods. I keep fruits for use in jello.

Weighing pre-bagged produce

People sometimes look at me funny when I carry three or four bags of carrots to the scale. But pre-bagged fruits and veggies can vary in weight, and checking to get the heaviest bag gets me more for my money!
