Goals are great. Pursuing them and achieving them is wonderful, but not being obsessed by them. Remember you have a pause button. Take time each day to "smell the flowers," appreciate a gift, send a smile to the world or just to be. We are human beings, not human doings.
Can't believe this... it's true. I'm sure there are other companies, but I have a sadsream. Makes plain water into sparkling water. Add lemon or cukes for a refreshing taste. There are even no calories flavors. Right now I have pink grapefruit and ginger ale. Since one bottle holds 33 oz., it's easy to get in my 8 glasses a day.
I love a top and bottom to my sandwiches. I discovered whole grain 100 calorie rolls... they are made by several different companies. I have my turkey BLT's, my soy burgers. my PB and J and all sorts of sandwiches on them. I have even lightly toasted each 1/2, added sugar sub. and cinnamon for a sweet treat with evening tea.
I had lost my motivation for this training until I got smarter about myself. I do only 4-6 different exercises a day, alternating between upper body one day and lower body the next and giving myself the weekends off. It takes only about 20 minutes and I think I am back on track.
We all know fruits and veggies are important for their vitamin and mineral content, but they are also important for their water content. Because they have so much water in them, you will feel full faster eating them instead of other foods.
To find stillness, sit in a quiet comfortable place. Find an even breathing pattern, for instance 3 counts on an inhale and 3 on the exhale. Relax all of your muscles, not forgetting your face. Sit with your eyes closed for a few minutes remembering how your mind and body feel. Practice often enough, so you can summon up this stillness in times of stress.
When we go to out to a place with limited healthy choices in the main dish category, I check out the appetizers. Often there will be one that is relatively healthy, will be a smaller portion since it's an appetizer. I add a salad with dressing on the side and I am set.
Take a long strap of fabric.... I used my son's orange belt from taikwondo. Wrap the strap around you from the back at about the nipple line. Take the two ends and put the right one over th right shoulder, let over left shoulder. Reach back and cross the straps so you bring the right one out front on your left side and vice verse. With your hands at right angles to the floor and in front of you, pull forward on the straps. Your shoulders will be in line with hips, ankles and ears!
