Will Power is Stronger than Your Mind

If you're craving a chocolate overdose or you want to phone it in half way through your workout just think of why it is you're working so hard to lose weight. And if that's not enough to fuel the will power fire than remember all the people who doubted your ability to lose that large (or even stubborn small) amount of weight you said you'd lose and think of how fantastic it will feel to prove them wrong.

Starbucks Proof Your Life

I know we all enjoy a nice Starbucks coffee every now and then but they do so much damage. So my little trick to enjoying Starbucks but not giving in to the urge to "make it a Venti" is find yourself a travel mug that you love and is as small as you can find. Keep it with you so that whenever you feel the need for a Starbucks you are still abkle to "portion control" your drink.

Dress for Success

The only time of day I have to exercise is bright and early first thing in the morning and I am by no means a morning person. I found that I'd wake up when my alarm went off but then lounge around in my comfy PJ's. So instead I've invested in some comfy work out clothes, I wear them to bed and then when my alarm goes off at the break of dawn all I have to do when I get out of my bed is put on my running shoes and get moving!

Make SparkPeople the first thing you do in your day

First thing in the morning I pour myself a giant glass of water and sit down to my laptop. I use SparkPeople to plan out my meals for the day, find the motivation I might've been lacking when I first woke and connect with other people who're also on their weight loss journey's.

Don't Let Others De-rail You

We know they're not trying to do it on purpose ( or maybe they are?) but we all know atleast one person (friend or family) that tries to undermine our weight loss.

For me, it's my best friend who can't accept I've given up on drinking, because it's too many empty calories.

Just let that person know why it is you are or aren't doing something and why it's important to you.

Measuring Food

Portion size is the biggest thing and I found that measuring my food and paying attention to the suggested serving sizes on packaging helped me learn what a healthy meal should look like!
