Just take a second ....

There is ALWAYS someone worse off than you. ALWAYS! Someone will always have diabetes, cancer, AIDS, HIV a disease of some sort, will be homeless, not have money for food, not have a family, not have something that you have ... so next time you want to whine or complain when the going gets rough think before you speak!

Safety First

Well I do not do crash diets, I don't take crazy pills. I don't do cardio until I am blue in the face. I eat healthy. I eat in moderation. I limit my saturated fats, sugars, and simple carbohydrates.

Slow is fast and fast is slow. It really is. I would rather maintain my muscle and lose weight slowly and cut fat slowly than loose my muscle and not burn up my fat, which is what excess cardio does!

The word "can't" doesn't exist in my vocabulary.

I can't is just a word that is used for excuses. I won't is the same in my book.

Now whenever I can't sneaks up and wants to come out of my mouth, I know I can do it. I tell my mind to shut up and show myself what I am made of.

Being a recruit in firefighting academy really shows you what you are made of.

Numbers - Inches - Percentages

I weigh myself once a month, measure BF% once a month, inches once a month. I do not focus on numbers too much. I focus more on how I feel and what I look like. That's how you truly can tell changes are happening, well that and blood test too!

Pushing past the limit of belief

When I am running, lifting weights, doing the stairmill with 75 pounds training for firefighting and stairclimbing and I want to give up and quit.
I think of those who do not have the ability to use their legs or hands. Those who are bed ridden. Those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us and our country. My husband has lost a friend, and a few of his friends have been critically injured. I exercise for them! I push through the pain for them! I do it for them! In their honor, my heroes!

Water

I drink 2-4 cups of water as soon as I wake up. Helps my body wake up and get's my body working, and also helps me eat less at breakfast instead of overeating.
