We have all heard the saying, "Practice makes perfect.", but it's really not true! How can practicing something wrong make it perfect? Simply, it can't! So, the habits we want in our lives, must be practiced perfectly. No, we are not ever going to be perfect 100% of the time, but why not strive for it?
When I want one of the kids to do something- it is much easier on me and them if I get the attention first! Often, I'm thinking of what I want them to do and just start talking thinking they are listening to me... then, I usually end up repeating myself and being frustrated. This way- they hear it!
My goal is to drink at least 2L (64oz.) of water a day. I bought a 1L bottle so I could easily "see" what I was drinking and keep track! I would like to drink more, so now, I fill it half full at night, so when I get up, I finish it off, then still think about finishing and filling 2 times during the day.
I used to hear "Always answer the phone with a smile because the other person will hear it in your voice." How true! When I run, I feel so much better if someone smiles at me and I smile at them. I have found that when I'm getting tired, I smile even if it's just to myself and I can keep going!
The sayings, "Hindsight is 20/20." and "Learn from your mistakes." But... why not use someone else's 20/20 hindsight and learn from someone else's mistakes? I know some of us need to learn things on our own, but we really could go a lot farther faster if we would adopt this new philosophy!
What makes you tick? Why do you want to lose weight, get organized, be healthy? It won't be the exact same as someone else. If you want to succeed, you must first look within. What motivates you and what demotivates you? Know the signs in you, then use them to win!!
